The team at SOCIAL F+B’s approach to designing The Piano Bar at Cha House, Shanghai

Was to embrace and enhance the heritage-chic interiors by designing luxuriously rich lounge area that sit royally within the heritage interiors. Inspired by the natural beauty of the Magnolia flower and the legacy of Harrods, the design brings together subtle, botanical touches and a refined use of materiality. 

The journey to Level two starts at the new “Piano Bar” on the ground floor, designed by our team to provide a celebratory arrival to Cha House. The bar is clad with cylindrical glass filled with small air bubbles, reminiscent of the sparkling perlage of cold champagne. The glass bar front mirrors the heritage tiles, allowing the bar to seemingly float in the space.
